Starting your tax prep journey with Texas Tax Heroes™ is simple, fast, and fully online. To get started, all new and returning clients must complete the Client Application—your first step toward accurate, secure, and timely tax filing.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you complete the process through our secure portal:
Go to 👉 www.TexasTaxHeroes.com/eFile
You’ll be directed to our secure Client Intake Form.
The application will ask you to provide:
Full legal name
Email address and phone number
Mailing address
Social Security Number (or ITIN)
Filing status (single, head of household, married, etc.)
Information for spouse/dependents, if applicable
Employment details and types of income (W-2, 1099, self-employment, etc.)
Any tax documents you’ll be submitting (upload available at the end)
Tip: Be as accurate as possible to avoid processing delays.
At the end of the form, you’ll be prompted to upload supporting documents, such as:
W-2s, 1099s, 1098s
Prior-year tax return (if new client)
Proof of identity (photo ID, Social Security card)
Childcare, education, or health insurance documentation
You can upload files directly from your device or take a photo.
Before hitting submit:
Double-check all information entered
Ensure all required documents are attached
Click Submit when you’re done. You’ll receive an email confirmation that your application has been received.
After submitting:
A tax preparer will review your information.
You’ll be contacted via email or phone for follow-up (if needed).
You’ll receive your prepared return to review and sign.
Once approved, we’ll eFile it for you!
